One of the most spectacular yachts in the world has been sold. Ulysses, the 107.4 metre (352ft) explorer yacht jointly listed for sale by Fraser and Burgess, has been sold with Burgess introducing the buyer.

As we reported last yearUlysses was put on the market by New Zealand’s richest man Graeme Hart, with a reported asking price of around $195m. The final sale price of Ulysses is unknown.

Ulysses is currently the world’s fourth largest explorer yacht but will be overtaken by its big sister. The 116-metre version of Ulysses, Hull 370.

Construction & Dimensions

The 107.4m (352ft) custom expedition motor yacht ‘Ulysses‘ was built by Kleven in Norway at their Hasundhornet shipyard, she was delivered to her owner in 2015. This is the first yacht to be built by Kleven.

Ulysses features a displacement steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. She was built to Lloyds Register classification society rules. Every aspect of the yacht has been meticulously thought out and executed to maximise comfort and functionality – from the Rolls-Royce integrated bridge, throughout the spacious guest areas, all the way up to the fully certified helicopter deck and hangar. 

Ulysses features a modern luxurious interior designed by H2 Yacht Design and the Naval architecture was undertaken by Marin Teknikk. This luxury vessel’s sophisticated exterior design and engineering are the work of Marinteknik Verkstads. 

She is classed with DNV including Ice class and flagged in the Cayman Islands.

Accommodation

Ulysses’s interior configuration has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 30 guests overnight in 15 spacious staterooms, comprising a master suite, 4 VIP staterooms, and 10 double cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 40 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Performance

Powered by 2 Caterpillar 2,230hp diesel engines and propelled by her azipods Motor yacht ULYSSES is capable of a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 15 knots. Her water tanks store around 309,000 of fresh water.

New Zealand designer Kyle Dick of Oscar Mike Naval Architects also shared in the project. Built for expedition style cruising, she is ice-classed and has an 8,500Nm range.

Ulysses has two specially designed cranes on the foredeck to safely launch and recover the custom 21-metre tender

Ulysses has an extensive inventory of tenders and toys, including 21-metre catamaran capable of 50 knots. There are many special features on Ulysses including Passenger Yacht classification, certified helicopter landing deck with garage and tenders up to 65’.
